Vintage Oakland Raiders / L.A. Kings Starter Hats & Jackets

I was watching a rerun of Married With Children this morning on TBS and Bud's character takes on the role of Grand Master B. He was wearing his Oakland Raiders Starter Jacket & Black Raiders snap back hat. As an eBay seller I was thinking to myself I wish I had those items to sell on eBay right now. Raiders & L.A. Kings gear which became popular with the rap group NWA in the late 80s (who always wore the black and silver colors of those sports teams) are excellent sellers on eBay.

Here are the last 90 days stats from Terapeak

Keywords

Oakland Raiders Starter Jacket - Avg. Price $70.28

Oakland Raiders Starter Hat - Avg. Price $32.79

L.A. Kings Starter Jacket - Avg Price $71.70

L.A. Kings Starter Hat - Avg Price $40.81

The average Sell Through Rate for these keywords is over 70% which is excellent. Plus a lot of sellers add these keywords to other teams starter hats or jacket auctions to get more views because they know people are searching for these items. So that average price and sell through rate would be higher for these items.

So keep an eye out for these items at garage sales, thrift stores, etc.

Good Luck,

Cell Phone Find of the Week #2

Every Monday I am going to post a sale from the previous week that if not for my cell phone to help me find while at the Thrift Store I would have probably passed on it. I just want to stress the importance of having a good eBay app. on your cell phone while shopping at a Thrift Store/Garage Sale/Consignment Pickup/etc.

VTG 1994 USA Soccer Jersey
Purchased for $4.99
Sold for $28.77
This jersey actually had a stain and 2 holes in it, but thanks to my phone I knew that 1 sold in excellent condition for $100.00+. So I figured I could make some cash off of this especially with the World Cup coming up this summer. This item passed my goal of a $10.00 profit per item.

Stay tuned to next Monday to see what I come up with next.

Good Luck

Thrift Store Find of the Month for Jan. 2010 (Part 1)

The first month of the new year was by far my best month ever for thrifting with 3 items selling for over $100.00 that were purchased for less than $5.00 each. I have decided to post all 3 finds in separate posts during the next few days.

Coming in at #3 for this month: Vintage Sand Knit NFL Jersey
sold for $109.99.

Vintage Sand Knit Jerseys are good sellers on eBay. This is just another example of the variety of items that you can make money on. If you know what to look for and have a little patience you will succeed at reselling thrift store items on eBay.

I love the half price days at the Salvation Army. It is always funny to see people waiting for them to bring out the racks of new clothes and then they all rush over pretty much pushing each other out of the way hoping to find a pair of True Religion Jeans or some other really high end designer item. As they are there stressing out I'm casually going through the racks finding items like Sand Knit Jerseys that I can resell for 10 times what I originally paid.

Here is another one of my recent Sand Knit finds:

Good Luck
