Thrift Store Item 2 Sell - Dinnerware

Every thrift store in my area always has a bunch of dinnerware items in stock. I admit it is not the first area I go to when I walk into a Thrift Store, but I have been ending my visits in that section and have come across some great finds. I have added pictures of some of those finds below.

Plates are usually just stacked in bunches so it takes some time to carefully look through the plates because you don't want to be that person who breaks something because you know every body in the store will turn to look at you. Dinnerware items are usually marked on the bottom. This is where you have to be prepared by researching before you go or by using your eBay app on your cell phone.

A few names you should look for are Fire-King, Fiestaware, Russel Wright. Sometimes you just need to take a shot on something that looks unique to you. I did some researching of my own and found this auction to be interesting. That is an idea of something you might never think of if you saw it but why not take a shot.

Here are those completed items that I found thrifting. Great profit as these items were between .99-$2.99 each.

Thrift Store Find - 6 Illy Collection Cups/Saucers

I know I typically post my thrift store finds after they have sold, but what the heck I might as well start posting some of them as I list them on eBay. A little added exposure couldn't hurt the auction. So here is a rare thrift store find that I think will do nicely on eBay.

I tend to browse the miscellaneous section of the thrift store after I finish up with the clothes racks. I usually only spend a few minutes, but I think I am going to start paying alittle more attention to the miscellaneous goods. After all some of my best finds have been household items, like this fire-king mug.

Thrift Store Find of the Month Oct. 2009

It doesn't get any better than this. October was a very good thrift month. This barely beat out:

There are many eBay sites out there with lots of information, but I back up all my information with my own actual listings not average prices of items sold on eBay, that is very misleading.

Cap'n Crunch Fire King Mug

You probably know this by now but just in case you don't - Rare Anchor Hocking Fire King Mugs are one of the best thrift store finds possible. I found an excellent one last week:

They are beautiful mugs and I can easily see how people become hard core Fire King Mug collectors. When you get a chance do a completed items search for Fire King Mugs and sort by highest price. You can see all the cool rare Fire King mugs selling for top dollar. (Snoopy, Pizza Hut, Nike, Ghostbusters, McDonalds and many more)

So keep an eye out at Thrift Stores, Garage Sales, Craigslist.
