Wishing everybody a great 2010. I had a couple of excellent thrift store shopping days this week. Check out the picture below. After spending the majority of my eBay career as a Bronze/Silver Level PowerSeller, I almost went blind when I logged into my eBay account and saw the shiny Gold-Level PowerSeller on my dashboard. Bling Bling...

Nice to see and to motivate me to stay at Gold for 2010. I hope everyone starts to think about their eBay goals for 2010. Write them down and post them above your computer so you see them every morning. Make an eBay schedule and stick to it. That should be your #1 New Years eBay Resolution.

Thrift Store Find of the Month Nov. 2009

Cycling jerseys are excellent sellers on eBay, especially Internationally. Whenever you see one in good shape don't hesitate to buy it. I purchased this for $2.99 and after eBay/Paypal fees my profit was around $68.00 dollars.

Deal of the Day Website for the Month of December '09

There are thousands of websites that offer daily deals usually half off the actual retail price (I sound like Drew Carey on the Price is Right). You probably know the most popular site which is Woot.com. ***I have never really made a great sale on eBay buying from Woot, I usually sell Woot.com items on Amazon for a better profit.***
Most of the time if you compare the deal from these websites with what it is selling for on eBay it's not really worth it especially after the eBay fees are taken out. But I have found some really good deals out there. From now on 1-2 times a month I will showcase a new site that might be worth checking out if you want to make some extra money selling the product on eBay. So you won't have to waste hours checking every site you might want to narrow them down to the ones I feature every month.

This is a great deal. In case you don' know by now the Droid is hot. I have one and I LOVE it. These Charging Docks are selling for up to $59.99 on eBay. I would say the avg. selling price is closer to $49.99, but they are selling. Not many unsold auctions. Check out the completed items here.

This is the perfect time of the year to sell used flannel shirts on eBay. Flannel shirts are not only for the rugged outdoors man anymore, they are also seen on all the trendy people.

Here are the more common brands that you might find at your local thrift store that are worth buying.

• Pendleton (very good sellers even if slightly flawed)

Review - Pocket Auctions for eBay App - Android

If you are a serious eBay seller and in the market for a new cell phone, I will give you some advice, consider it an early Christmas gift. Go buy the new Motorola Droid and download the Pocket Auctions for eBay application by Bonfire Media. You can also download this on any other phone running Android.

This is a must have when you are out shopping or thrifting for items to resell on eBay. Here are some of the highlights.

• The speed is amazing, it runs faster than my home computer


• You do not have to sign in to run a completed items search


• There is a scan bar to price check items (more information below)

That's right a bar code scanner. Here's how it works: Just hold the phone up to the bar code on any product and it will pull up the product on eBay. You can compare prices and see if it is worth buying to make a profit. Trust me once yo start using it you will start scanning things all around the house for fun.

I have only had this application for one day and already it made my thrift store shopping experience so much easier. I was able to get a lot more done during my time then in the past when it would take me minutes to research an item, now it takes seconds.

eBay Photos - Cameras

One of the most important factors in determining the outcome of your eBay auction is how your photos look to potential bidders. I think it is best to have a separate camera just for eBay, it just makes life much easier. If you want to spend a lot of money on a digital camera use that camera as your personal camera. You do not need to spend a lot on a digital camera for eBay use. My recommendation is the Nikon Coolpix 4500. I love this camera. The key feature is the swiveling frame, which makes taking a shot at any angle very easy. The close up photos which are very important come out excellent. The Nikon Coolpix 4500 used on eBay can be purchased for around $150.00 with extras included. If you have any other eBay camera suggestions feel free to post and let us know what you like about it.

Thrift Store Item 2 Sell - Vintage IZOD Lacoste Sweaters

Vintage IZOD Lacoste Sweaters are excellent thrift store finds. Very popular in he late 70s & early 80s. Now they have become trendy and do very well on eBay. The tennis sweater and the cardigan pictured below are the most popular styles.

Here is the latest Vintage IZOD Lacoste Cardigan that I sold on eBay. Not a bad profit for an item purchased for $3.99. I have sold others for as high as $40.00, this is just the most recent example.

Thrift Store Item 2 Sell - French Canister Sets

French Canisters are excellent sellers on eBay. The better selling canisters are enamelware and usually consist of a set of 5 or more canisters. You will see the French words like 'Sucre', 'Farine', 'Café', 'Pâtes', The' and 'Poivre' written on the canisters. Sugar, Flour, Coffee, Pasta, Tea and Pepper.

So next time you are out thrifting or at a garage sale keep an eye out for French Canisters sets.

Hot eBay Tip For Christmas 2009 ~ Pleo Dinosaur ~

Pleo an interactive robotic dinosaur is another hot toy for Christmas 2009. Add it to the list along with the Zhu Zhu hampsters so far.

Here is a way to make some cash from it. It is selling for $151.oo on QVC.com. Compare that to $199 and up on eBay or better yet $215.00+ on Amazon. So if you hurry you can make a few bucks reselling them.

It is actually selling for $349.00 at Target.

You probably know this by now but just in case you don't - Rare Anchor Hocking Fire King Mugs are one of the best thrift store finds possible. I found an excellent one last week:

So keep an eye out at Thrift Stores, Garage Sales, Craigslist.

Hot eBay Item for Christmas 2009 Zhu Zhu Hamsters

OK, if you haven't heard by now this is the hot toy for Christmas 2009. Sold out online at Target, Toys R Us, and Walmart.
So check around your local stores mentioned above. Check Craigslist and Kijiji.com, you never know maybe you'll get lucky before everybody else catches on.

Thrift Store Find of the Month Sept. 2009

MAMBO Loud Shirt SUBURBIA Men's XL Hawaiian sold 9/23/09 for $50.00

Though a rare thrift store find, I actually found 2 Mambo shirts in like new condition. Picked up each shirt in the $2-$3 dollar range. A nice little profit on this one. These shirts are big in Australia, the colors are so bright. So keep an eye out for these next time you are at a thrift store, chances are you've probably never heard of Mambo before. Here is a picture of the inside tag. offer free shipping if you do find one because they are very light shirts.

As with most clothing the larger the size usually means a higher price on eBay.

Wish I would of been at this Garage Sale.

Check out this nintendo game listed on eBay. It is currently bid up to $8,290.00 with over 3 days left. It was found at a garage sale in 2006 of an ex Nintendo employee.

Vintage Nintendo NES games are good garage sale finds. They will probably be very cheap and if you can put together a nice lot to resell on eBay it could bring a nice profit.
