OK, this will take some work on your part, but there are deals to be had on the Saks Fifth Avenue website. I would not spend a whole lot of time on this, but if you browse the Saks.com Sale section you can occasionally find some good deals. Keep reading and I will show you one of the deals that I found, I will also give you an item that is not on sale that you can resell on eBay right now.




Here is my purchase of a Saks San Francisco Snow Globe for $20.00



I sold the item on eBay for $75.00 Buy It Now within a couple of days of listing it.

A nice little profit especially since I used eBates for 5% cash back and qualified for free shipping.

If you go to the Saks website right now the New York City Snow Globe is up for $40.00. This item should go for at least $70.00 on eBay. Click here for eBay Research to check completed items since a NY Globe has not sold in the past 30 days, so you won't find it on eBay. I know one sold a couple of months ago for $70.00 + and I have had an eBay overseas buyer e-mail me asking if I had one to sell.

You can check the Saks website daily for new sales. Items by Eileen Fisher, Juicy Couture and UGG are good sellers on eBay.

Wish I would of been at this Garage Sale.

Check out this nintendo game listed on eBay. It is currently bid up to $8,290.00 with over 3 days left. It was found at a garage sale in 2006 of an ex Nintendo employee.

Vintage Nintendo NES games are good garage sale finds. They will probably be very cheap and if you can put together a nice lot to resell on eBay it could bring a nice profit.

What to look for when buying a thrift store t-shirt to resell on eBay

Thrift stores are great for finding used clothing at rock-bottom prices. One of the best finds at thrift stores are t-shirts. From vintage sports t-shirts to Hollister t-shirts the diversity is unlike anything you will find at your local department store. Here is a how to guide to make sure the shirt is worth buying.

1. Check it over for stains. The best way to do this is bring the shirt near a window of the store in the natural day light. You can miss stains on darker shirts if you only look under the lights in the store.
2. Smell under the arm pits. It may sound and look silly when you are doing it, but those smells are hard to get out and just makes the shirt a little less appealing and could effect your feedback once the buyer receives it.
3. If the shirt is purchased at the Salvation Army, chances are the price tag was stapled onto the front of the shirt. If this is the case make sure the material can withstand the staple removal. The very thin cotton is though to remove without causing a rip in the shirt. The best way to remove the staple is to lift up both sides of the back of the staple up with a knife and gently pull the price tag forward away from the shirt.
4. Stretch the shirt out and make sure there are no rips on the shirt. The most common places are the seams where the sleeve is sewn to the shirt, the underarms, the collar and the bottom of the shirt.
5. If there are any loose threads do not worry. You can purchase a fabric shaver for a few bucks at your local drug store (Rite Aid, Walgreen's, etc.) It will easily remove those loose threads and improve the look of your shirt.
6. After a good wash with a stain fighting laundry detergent, you are ready to list your shirt on eBay.

Thrift Store item to sell on eBay - Harley Davidson T-Shirts

These are not too hard to find at thrift stores. The best place to look is in the black t-shirt section of the store. They usually cost between a dollar or two. I have even purchased a few for .49 cents on half price days.

It amazes me the stuff that I find at thrift stores. I have found Harley shirts in my New York City thrift store representing Harley dealerships from all over the country from Montana to Arkansas. I guess while Harley owners are hitting the open road, along the way they stop at every Harley Dealership to check out the apparel.

I have included screenshots of two of my recent sales. Not too bad for a t-shirt purchased for less than $2.00. If you are avid thrift er you might want to hold on to the Harley tees and list them in a lot when you get a good group of shirts. I have seen lots of 8 used Harley shirts going for $150.00 and up.

I Love Half.com

Hey Everyone, sorry it has been so long in between posts, but I was away in Alaska (my delayed honeymoon) for a few weeks and since I have returned I have been working long and hard on improving my eBay business http://www.asapsellsit.com/. But I am back now and ready to make this one of the best and most informative eBay blogs out there. Oh yeah before I get to the eBay stuff, if you ever have a chance to go to Alaska, DO IT.College textbooks are big sellers on half.com and here's the proof. I just purchased a Marketing Research textbook (shown above) for $2.00 at my a local thrift store. Listed it on half.com and it sold within 5 minutes for $65.00. Amazing.

Selling used textbooks purchased at a thrift store can be tricky. If you do not have the current edition, chances are it really has no value to anyone, so you need to be careful. A lot of students these days usually sell their books back to the school.

You have 3 ways play the Used Textbook Thrift Store Game.

1. Go to half.com on your cell phone's browser and look up the book while at the thrift store. Make sure you are looking at the right edition.
2. Write down or take photos of the book or ISBN # and look it up at home where you have access to a faster Internet connection
3. Take a Chance... Look at the copyright date and if it is within the last couple of years there is a good chance that the textbook is still being used at colleges today.

The best thing about listing on half.com is you hardly have to do any work. The pictures are already there as well as all the info about your item. All you have to do is descrivbe the condition.

Try .99¢ Auctions For A Higher Profit

eBay is weird like this, but if you have an unsold item that you expected to sell for at least $4.99, and you started it at that price, re-list it for .99¢ the next time around. It happens to me all the time with clothing that I have sold. One of my items goes unsold at $4.99 and then when I list it starting at .99¢ the item sells for much higher. Here are some of my own recent examples.

Now don't expect the item to sell for d$150.00 bucks. But at least you sold the item and now you can move on to something else and make a few bucks instead of losing a few. Plus hopefully you'll get some positive feedback and maybe a new customer who will follow your future auctions.

Thrift Store Item - Vintage Sports T-Shirts

Vintage Professional Sports T-Shirts are great Thrift Store Finds to resell on eBay. As summer approaches everybody wants to look cool in their tight fitting retro tees. T-Shirts usually sell between .99-$2.99 at thrift stores and if you go on half price days JACKPOT!!!!!

Look for vintage team logo shirts and character shirts (jordan, griffey, larry bird, etc.) Championship shirts (for example 1986 Mets, 1991 Bulls) are great sellers.

***You have to be careful with t-shirts, if the material is thin make sure the staples that hold the price tag on the shirt did not cause a hole*** Sometimes it is hard to tell until you get home but it is worth the risk.

As with all thrift store items especially t-shirts check them over 2-3 times before you buy. Check under the arm pits and near the neck for rips.

Thrift Store Item - Baseball Jerseys

Baseball Jerseys are good sellers on eBay, especially vintage baseball jerseys in used condition. Anyone can go to a local sporting goods store or shop online and get a new jersey of there favorite team. But people want to look cool and stand out at games by wearing a different jersey than everyone else that shows support for there team.

Your local thrift shop is a great place to find these. Not only do you have the advantage of selling to someone in your area who doesn't want to go looking at thrift stores for items you also have the advantage of selling the Jersey worldwide. Someone living in New York can easily get a new style jersey of there favorite California team by shopping online, but to find a rare vintage style jersey they will turn to eBay. You living in California have the advantage of local merchandise like team jerseys at your local thrift store. Living in New York they will probably find plenty of Mets and Yankees jerseys, but if they support another team they will turn to eBay.

Check out some of these closed listing of used Jerseys, some even have stains on the jersey, so they are not in perfect used condition and they still did well. The bigger the size the better, and popular teams like the Cubs and Red Sox are always good sellers.

Thrift Store - Thomas Pink Dress Shirts

Thomas Pink is a retail clothing company that started in England in the early 1980s. I have never heard of the Thomas Pink brand until I was browsing the rack at the local Thrift Store and saw this big Pink label inside of a mens dress shirt. The label instantly made me think that this was an expensive shirt. So I purchased it and went home and did some research on it. Men's Pink Dress shirts in the checker pattern sell for $40.00 and up in excellent used condition. The first shirt I purchased has a small rip in the top of the inside collar so I kept it for myself, and it's a great shirt that I get lots of compliments on. I have seen several Thomas Pink shirts since.

Thrift Store - Lacoste Shirts

I come across at least one Lacoste shirt almost every time I go Thrift Store shopping and today I found 3. They are usually selling between $2.99-$4.99 at Thrift stores and sometimes you can get them half off those prices. I have sold used Lacoste polo shirts on eBay with great success even if they are not in perfect condition. The key to selling Lacoste Polo Shirts is to make sure they are 100% Authentic. There are a lot of fakes out there, but everyone I have sold is authentic because I know what to look for.

Here is how to tell if your Lacoste shirt is legit.

- A genuine Lacoste crocodile should be very detailed & tightly stitched. You should see teeth and claws.
-On men’s polos, the crocodile is on the left hand side, between the bottom button and the placket.
-Solid Lacoste Polos have 2 Mother of Pearl buttons. The buttons have two holes in them and are threaded horizontally. Some of the striped Lacoste polos may have 3 buttons. Make sure there is nothing written on the buttons.
-The tag on the inside of the shirt towards the top collar will be sized in numbers on the top left. Either US sizing (4, 5, 6, 7, etc.) or European sizing (40, 42, 44 etc.) The tag will never be M, L, XL.

-The croc on the tag should also be detailed. You should be able to see the whites in the eyes.
OK you are now ready to go find some Pre-Owned Lacoste shirts. Just make sure to save some for me.

With my eBay sales way down lately, I have been depending on Amazon sales to help me make it through these tough times. Looking for new ways to find products to sell on eBay and bring back the excitement of no reserve auctions. I have started hitting the thrift stores and am amazed at the deals to be had.

The best selling items so far have been lightly used Jeans. I am amazed by the high end designer jeans that I have found. The key is making sure the jeans are 100% authentic.
